Tell us a bit about yourself.
Originally from a small country town in Devon in the UK, I was normally used to the quiet life, before moving to Sydney over 11 years ago, and I haven’t looked back!
Living on the lovely Northern Beaches I spend most of my weekends at the beach with my husband and 2 young sons, or having lunch and catching up with friends.
What do you enjoy most about the recruitment profession?
Working in the contracting space, I particularly love the speed at which roles move, from taking the initial brief to the offer. I love the fact you could take a brief on a Friday afternoon, and someone could be starting a new role on the Monday morning. It’s so rewarding. Also a lot of contract roles convert to a permanent position, so knowing you have made a client and candidate very happy from a long term Intervperspective is really rewarding.
What do you like least?!
Ghosting, when candidates just disappear and never return your call.
If you could do any other job, what would it be?
I would be a Weather Woman! I’ve always thought that would be a glamorous job.
What is your prediction for the recruitment profession over the next decade?
I think there is always going to be a need for specialist agency recruiters; we have just seen how valuable they are over the last couple of years.
I do think we have some tough times ahead with inflation and interest rates where they are, so I think businesses will tighten their belts. But I think this is where recruiters will truly extend and build some good relationships.
What do you enjoy about working at Peoplecorp?
My team! It is literally like having a second family. Everyone is really hard working and supportive but at the same time they are so much fun to be around. They are all very different in their own unique/weird way.
What are you most proud of?
Being at Peoplecorp for 10 years! I have achieved so much in that time from seeing the business grow to helping build the contracting team into what it is today.
