THE ORGANISATION Our client is a well-known global insurance company with approximately 10,000 employees. With a well-established HR and ER team, they are seeking a driven individual to join their expanding team.
We are open to HR generalist candidates with excellent written and verbal communication skills who are keen to develop their ER skills, as well as ER specialists looking for a new opportunity.
THE ROLE This role is essential for providing specialised, compliant Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) advice to the People & Culture (P&C) team, leaders, and employees, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and future-ready workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead ER initiatives to foster flexibility, inclusion, and a culture of integrity.
- Partner with P&C and business leaders on ER matters, identifying risk management opportunities in both projects and day-to-day activities.
- Represent the organisation at the Fair Work Commission (Australia), Australian Human Rights Commission, Employment Authority (New Zealand), and courts across Australia and New Zealand.
- Maintain people policies and documentation, ensuring alignment with organisational purpose and a positive employee experience.
- Monitor trends in legislation and case law to maintain a contemporary approach to ER.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including unions, regulators, and other partners in the finance and public service sectors.
THE CRITERIA We are looking for a candidate with outstanding written and verbal communication skills, who can craft clear, concise employee letters that accurately convey union agreements and policy updates. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting awards, ensuring compliance and clarity in all communications. They should be polished, sharp, and ready to adapt quickly to the role, confidently managing tasks and providing valuable support from day one.
