Jairus Ashworth initially gave us his overview of the current reward market giving his labour market insights. As always, Jairus has a unique style of engaging the crowd with his on-point observations, and fun facts! He talked about the inflation, unemployment and cost of living “equation” not creating the economic market one might expect.
Next we heard from Rebecca Zhang, who focused on the Exec Reward landscape and informing us of which sectors were performing better in that area. She covered off some different incentive-design strategies that organisations were taking, and the success (or not) of those approaches.
Then it was Sylvia Lim who talked us through some interesting facts around gender pay equity and how there was a real opportunity for employers to stand-out at the moment, specifically with regards to pay transparency.
We finished the session with the Jobbies, always a genuine crowd pleaser. This year Jairus had poured over the entire Aon Global database, poring over millions of role titles to come up with the favourites.
Notable mentions go to winner of top tech title ‘Glorified Monkey Swinging a Pipe Wrench’ but taking out the prize for the top Jobbie was one for the optimists ‘World Happiness Project Manager’.
Thanks as always to the whole Aon team who help make this event such a success each year.
